STAR WARS V THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK: COLLECTOR'S SET. WEST END GAMES. YEAR: 2014.

Long time ago in a galaxy far far away....

¡Welcome back to the universe of Star Wars! We continue with this great order uploading pictures from the 5th episode of Star Wars: the Empire Strikes Back. We already published the last week another post about the episode IV: a New Hope, post that you can see by clicking here.

For those who didn't follow us the last week, let us explain a few features of these minitures. They were modeled in the 80's by the company West End Games for Star Wars the Roleplaying Game. However, despite being more than 25 years old, they have plenty of details and reproduce perfectly each character of the movies, even the most rare of them. In addition, each set has a sheet with the attributes and skills of every miniature so they are still playable.

This set about Star Wars V: the Empire Stikes Back includes 10 miniatures: Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Yoda, Lando Calrissian, Lobot, a rebel soldier at Hoth, General Veers, a snowtrooper and finally a Viper probe droid.
You can see that there are many different locations in this episode, so you will find a great variety in these models. In fact, there are uncommon characters like the Viper probe droid or Lobot. Let's see some pictures about them!

Overview of the Star Wars V: the Empire Stikes Back miniatures.

LUKE SKYWALKER

When he was scouting his assigned area at Hoth and was attacked by the Wampa, Obi-Wan Kenobi appeared in front of Luke as a Force Ghost to reveal him that he must travel to the planet Dagobah and look for Yoda Jedi Master. This model represents Luke moments after crashing his X-Wing against a swamp of Dagobah.

PRINCESS LEIA ORGANA

After escaping from Hoth with Han Solo on the Millenium Falcon, they decided to hide at Bespin in order to repair the old spaceship. Lando Calrissian, one of the most important man of Cloud City and old mate of Han was waiting for them with a very special guest...

As we said before, check out that the models represent very accurately the custome of the films such as the small holes that compose Leia's cloak. These are very good details if we remember that these figures were created in the 80's.

HAN SOLO

Best friend of Luke who saved him from a certain death in Hoth. After escaping from the Wampa's lair, Han found Luke unconscious in the snow. He digged a refugee to spend the night and keep Luke warm.

YODA

Jedi Master and member of the Jedi High Council during the Republic. He was exiled when Palpatine achieved the title of Emperor, being his destiny Dagobah. Luke traveled to this planet in order to meet Yoda and learn the Jedi powers. Check out the size of Yoda compared with a 2 cents coin!

LANDO CALRISSIAN

Old mate of Han Solo as smuggler and ex-owner of the Millenium Falcon, he was living at Besping as an important businessman. When Leia and Han were being chased by the Empire, they tried to hide at Cloud City with pretty bad results. After the treachery of Darth Vader, Lando decided to join the Rebel Alliance.

LOBOT

Lobot was a cyborg that helped Lando to administrate and rule the Cloud City of Bespin. During the Vader's betrayal, he helped our heroes to escape from the Empire.

REBEL TROOPER AT HOTH

When the Empire discovered the rebel Eco Base at Hoth thanks to the Viper probe droid, rebel troops fought bravely. However, they couldn't do anything against the AT-AT.

GENERAL VEERS

General Veers was one of the best imperial officers. He was in charge of the assault force on Hoth to the rebel Eco Base. Leading an AT-AT squadron was able to destroy the power generator that protected the base, allowing the landing of more imperial forces.

SNOWTROOPER

These imperial troopers were specially trained to fight in the snow. They defeated the rebel troops at Hoth when Lord Vader discovered their hidden base.

VIPER PROBE DROID

These droids where scattered all over the galaxy by the Empire in order to find the Rebel Alliance. Thanks to one of them that fell on Hoth and discovered the Eco Base power generator, the Imperial fleet was able to know the location of their enemies.

As you see, we have painted the base to simulate snow, just like the surface of Hoth.

We hope you liked our new Star Wars post. Don't worry because we still have a lot of miniatures to show! For the next week we will change the topic and we'll come back with something more common and traditional in our blog.

Regards from the whole crew!
