THE LORD OF THE RINGS DIORAMAS: SECOND ROUND, PART 2. GONDOR COMMANDERS. YEAR: 2013.

This diorama represents a Gondor commander group trying to defend the city of Osgiliath under siege by the forces of Sauron. The dark lord sent a huge army from his main base Minas Morgul, crossing the river Anduin.

As you see, it is a small base built to highlight the models. We built marble slabs in two different levels to simulate a street with stairs. In addition we have added a window that we took from some Warhammer 40.000 scenery. With some paint and moss we have transported it to the world of the Middle Earth. All the elements are buried to represent the different wars and damages that Osgiliath has suffered. Do you like it?

Bullet holes have been covered with moss in order to get a more devastated appearance.

If you pay attention you will see that bases of the Gondor commanders fit with their positions in the diorama.

Bricks were placed as ruins and debris.

Gondor commanders among the ruins of Osgiliath defending the city from the attack of Sauron.

That's all for now! In a couple of days we will be back with more scenes.

Next time we will include a tutorial so you can't miss it!

THE LORD OF THE RINGS DIORAMAS: SECOND ROUND. ISENGARD COMMANDERS. YEAR: 2013.

Today we start a new serie of the Lord of the Rings dioramas.
You know that some months ago we already built around 10 small scenes. If you are new in our blog or in order to refresh your memory we leave you here the links to them. In one click you will be watching our Lord of the Rings dioramas:

SAURON'S DEFEAT
SARUMAN'S PALANTIR & TOMA BOMBADIL AND GOLDBERRY
- THE MIRROR OF GALADRIEL AND CELEBORN
- MORDOR ORC COMMANDERS
- FORD OF BRUINEN (MUST SEE)
- MINES OF MORIA. THE TOMB OF BALIN (MUST SEE)
- MINAS MORGUL. THE WINDING STAIRCASE

Coming back to the post of today, we are going to upload a new Lord of the Rings diorama each two days. In some of them we will include a tutorial of how we made it.

To begin with this new serie of dioramas, we introduce you a small scene built to place Isengard commanders, when Saruman is digging into the earth to create more Uruks-hai from the ground with his dark magic. That's why we have added the wooden crane and some foundry stuff.
Miniatures have been painted by Alberto Luño, a recently incorporated painter to our team. These are his first models in our blog.
The scene itself has been designed, built and painted by Iván Notivoli, already known in this humble blog. Hope you like it!

Check out all its small details and elements.

We have modeled the Uruk-hai blades placed inside the metal bucket.

Do not miss our next post! It will be in two days and includes a tutorial.

BLOOD ANGELS VETERAN SQUAD. YEAR: 2013.

It is an astonishing unit that our client has customized getting a great result.
These seven miniatures come along with a STORMRAVEN (we will publish it next week) and both packs are included on his army, which we started around the first months of 2011:

After this brief summary, here you have got the squad. Hope you like it!

Feathers and jewels are characteristic details of the Blood Angels.

Scenic bases to represent a battlefield full of rocks and grass.

Can you say how many jewels have these seven Space Marines?

Two Veterans lead the squad.

Every Marine in this unit has battle damages on his armor.

Veteran with a green Power Sword.

These three veterans have golden helmets in order to highlight them among other Space Marines.

As you can see is a very customized unit.

Power Sword green details painted with airbrush.

Purple Power Sword details.

Here you can see the Power Fist of this Blood Angel Veteran.

The face of this Space Marine is great, half human and half robotic.

All parchments have something written.

ELDAR FIRE PRISM / NIGHTSPINNER & VYPERS. ENCARGO / REQUEST. YEAR: 2013.

We do not leave the activities nor the brushes even in August, that's why we bring you a new deliver. This time we have a full vehicle request and we have to say that they have taken more time than they seem in the pictures: all have been magnetized to exchange weapons. It ables to our customer to choose between an Eldar Fire Prism or a Nightspinner. You will see below that Vyers have the same technique and their weapons can be swifted as well. Fighting against infantry or vehicles, he won't need new miniatures.

The scheme of colour chosen by our customer has been the classic Biel-Tan Craftworld one, based in green, black and white tones. We have already painted a Guardians and Striking Scorpions squad for him following these instructions. However this request has been quite different, full of vehicles, heavy support, and fast attack troops.

Here you can see the Eldar Fire Prism / Nightspinner, one of the best tanks within the Eldar army.

Eldar Fire Prism.

Check out green lights applied with airbrush and thorn free hands all along the hull of the tank.

Fire Prism lateral view.

We can have a Nightspinner exchanging its weapons.

Eldar Vyper Jetbikes.

As you can see, each Vyper can be equipped with 5 different weapons.

Vyper ready for the battle.

Here you can see all the weapons which a Vyper can be equipped with thanks to the magnets.

We have equipped this Vyper with scatter laser.

Vyper with Eldar missile launcher.

This has been the first part of a request formed exclusively by vehicles. In the second one you will see a massive Windrider Jetbike squad and a full magnetized Eldar Wraithlord. Hope you like it as much as we have enjoyed painting everything!

Cheers!

WARHAMMER WORKSHOP AND BATTLE AT CIVIC CENTER OF SANTA ISABEL, ZARAGOZA.

Although educational centers are closed in July, we don't stop performing activities. This summer we have had the chance to teach the kids of Santa Isabel (in Zaragoza) what Warhammer is, how to paint and play Warhammer Fantasy battles.
The workshop was divided in three sessions:

In the first day, kids could learn basic painting techniques:

Here you can see Iván teaching other Iván (educator of Santa Isabel civic center).

Borja painting miniatures from a request during the workshop.

Starting up.

Iván teaching how to leave a drop of paint on the palette. You already know: take the paint from the palette (not directly from the pot) and dilute it with water.

Before begin the painting process, we prime the Night Goblins.

Kids listening eager to start while black spray is getting dry.

Goblins ready!

Educators were taking part of the activity as well.

These are some of the miniatures that kids painted:

Vanesa's Goblin (one of the educators of the civic center) ready for the battle:

In the second day, kids spent their time creating, decorating and painting their own different bases. A perfect chance to learn "dry brush" technique:

Here Vanesa is checking the pictures of the activity.

Today the teacher was Ricardo.

There was plenty of interest and participation.

They learnt how to create:

- A green grass basic base.
- A volcanic base made with cork.
- A base with sand.
- A base of water, lava or mud with Aquaplast.

In the third and last day, we show to the kids what a Warhammer Fantasy battle is. Luckily we could count with the presence of many kids, and we decided to arrange two different battles at the same time:

- Lizardmen vs Orcs and Goblins.
- Ogre Kingdoms vs the Empire.

We want to thank the educators for their implication all along the workshop because just one of the member of us, Grupo Afternoon, could attend the event.

Battles were played with a limit of 1.000 points and in a small tabletop of 120x120 cm.

Here Ivan is helping us with the battle of Orcs and Goblins vs Lizardmen.

A weird fog flooded the battle in the turn of Lizardmen.

Many young female generals were leading the armies: four at the Ogre Kingdom side!

Ricardo teaching the effects of the spell "Chain Lightning" from the Lore of Heavens. Check out the happines of the kids when they knew the destruccion they were about to create among the Ogre Kingdoms lines!

General view of the Ogre Kingdoms vs the Empire battle over our volcanic gameboard (you can click here to watch a videotutorial about how to build it).

Overview of the battle between Lizardmen and Orcs and Goblins.

That's all the information about the workshop we performed last week.

Thanks to all the kids that came 1, 2 or 3 days to the activity. You have participated a lot and very well and without this would have been imposible. Thanks as well to the civic center educators team for making everything easier in our tasks. We hope you enjoyed it!

THANKS AGAIN!

See you later!
