THE DEAD MARSHES. THE LORD OF THE RINGS. YEAR: 2014.

In their journey to destroy the One Ring, Frodo, Sam and Gollum had to cross the Dead Marshes in order to reach Mordor. It is an ancient and arduous path that Gollum knew very well because he took it to run away from the clutches of Sauron. The servants of the Dark Lord never dared to cross these lands because here was where the terrible Dead Marsh Spectres dwelt. Long ago, during the Last Alliance between Men and Elves, Sauron was defeated there, in the plain of Dagorlad. The Spectres are the souls of the fallen that fought that day.

GANDALF AT THE DOORS OF MORIA. THE LORD OF THE RINGS. YEAR: 2014.

In order to continue the journey of the Fellowship of the Ring, they have to cross the Mines of Moria, home of Durin's folk and kindred of Gimli. But first they have to enter...will be Gandalf able to discover the right words to unlock the magic Doors?

Of course! And we all know what dwells inside, close to the Tomb of Balin...

Gandalf thinks about ancient riddles and passwords.

Can you see the lights emulating the Moon reflection? Even at the trees.

The whole desing of the Doors have been made by our own brushes. Yes, it is a freehand.

MORANNON ORCS AT THE BLACK GATE OF MORDOR. YEAR: 2014.

The first scene is this little master-piece made by our mate Iván. The scene was totally unexpected for our customer. A nice surprise among others that you will discover along the week...

It is a diorama that represents the battlements of the Black Gate of Mordor. A perfect place for these Morannon Orc Commanders.

HOBBITS AT THE SHIRE HIDING FROM A NAZGÛL. THE LORD OF THE RINGS. YEAR: 2014.

Another day where we show you a new scene about The Lord of the Rings.

This diorama has already seen a few times on Internet and it is certanly a challenge. When our customer asked us for it, we where glad to try this great scene of the Lord of the Rings.

Nazgûls persecute the Hobbits that are leaving the Shire.

The first encounter is in a dirt road in the middle of a forest and they have to hide under some big roots. However, the Nazgûl feels the presence of the Ring and dismount in order to sniff the air. Luckily, it cannot see the Hobbits and leaves the forest.

In the scene of the Fellowship of the Ring, our Hobbits hide sitting in the ground. Unfortunately, it's been imposible to place the models in that pose, so we decided to put them standing up. Anyway, the original book is opened to different interpretations. ¿What do you think?

Nâzgul presecuting the Hobbits. You can see how our small mates seem a little bit restless.

Although it is a scene developed at the Shire, an evil and dark environment is required when a Nazgûl is around. We have wanted to transmit that with those scary woods and dark colours.

You can see the whole scene from any angle.

It was neccessary to model the roots with DAS modeling clay.

The Spectre of the Ring is about to dismount.

Using the small white and red bushes of the corners, we get some spots of different colours in order to don't saturate our eyes with the green vegetation.

THE LORD OF THE RINGS DIORAMAS. MINIATURE SCENES. YEAR: 2014.

For the last two weeks we have been finishing a long project that is becoming usual here in our blog. We are talking about our The Lord of the Rings scenes.

Just as a small resume we want to refresh your minds with some previous works. All of them are great and have escalated until reach the top of our most visited tops:

LEGOLAS AND CÍRDAN. THE LORD OF THE RINGS. YEAR: 2014.

There are many things that still set a trend, even when they have been created years ago. One perfect example is the book The Lord of the Rings and later turned into three legendary movies .

As previous step for a serie of posts about several scenes of the movies, we want to introduce you a couple of individual models that represent three main characters of The Lord of the Rings.

On one hand, the first model is easy to recognize because it is a very popular hero of the story, both in the book and movies. But, on the other hand, maybe we have an unknown character if you never have dived into the Tolkien's universe. Now, here you have the photos: 

MOUNTED LEGOLAS AND GIMLI AT THE FIELDS OF ROHAN

There is no need for introductions. Legolas and his friend Gimli sharing a horse.

The model keeps its base, so you can take it and watch it closer.

CÍRDAN

Círdan, also known as Círdan the Shipwright. He is a Teleri Elf, kin to both Elwë and Olwë.  From the Third Age, he ramained at the Grey Heavens where he was lord, and built ships which ferried the departing Elves to Valinor. Círdan had possession of the Great Ring Narya.

 It is known that Círdan always had his mind pointing at the sea. We have wanted to represent that with this base.

Check out the weathered effect of the water.

The water, once painted, has been covered with artificial water.

ELF CAPTAINS OF LOTHLÓRIEN. THE LORD OF THE RINGS. YEAR 2014

Not too long ago we bring you a new delivery of the Lord of the Rings dioramas.

In this post I'll be brief. We are getting ready our third part of these small scenes based on the films of Peter Jackson.
Our first diorama y simple but effective: a Lothlórien elf command group under a mighty Mallorn, one of the large trees that use to grow in Lorien.
