DEATHWATCH MARINES & ARCHMAGOS WITH SERVITORS. YEAR: 2015.

A very special post comes today to our blog.
Our customer continues his Deathwatch miniature collection. The Ordo Xenos choose its Marines from the best warriors of each chapter from all over the galaxy in order to defeat the xenos enemies of the Imperium of Man. Theses 9 models have been transformated by our customer and are completly unique: you will be able to see multiple details such as Deathwatch shoulder pads, Adeptus Mechanicus servitors, Space Marines from different chapters, etc.
It is not the first time that we perform miniatures from this misterious Inquisition chapter. Take a look to this Inquisitor, Deathwatch marines and some Soul Drinkers from a previous order:

- Soul Drinkers, Inquisitor and Deathwatch Marines.

For this order we have painted 4 Marines: one from the Blood Angels, one from the Imperial Fists chapter, another from the Black Templars and a Devastator from the Dark Angels. In addition, they have support from an Ultramarines Apothecary, a Techmarine, an Archmagos from the Adeptus Mechanicus and two Servitors. You are going to see plenty of colors and weapons.
What it really makes these models great is the personal touch of our client. He has inspired the Dark Heresy spirit to his models: a very personal work that we have performed as if would be ours.

TECHMARINE

Techmarines are both great warriors and wise engineers that take care and understand the machines, weapons and devices that their brothers use in battle. In this case we have the typical black Deathwatch power armor along with the red colour from the Adeptus Mechanicus.  

ARCHMAGOS

 Archmagus are the high lords of the Adeptus Mechanicus in Mars and can be experts in many matters. The one of today comes from an old model. It looks pretty similiar to the miniatures released by GW some months ago.

Accompanying the Archmagus there is always some Servitors like the one you can see below:

APOTHECARY

An apothecary is a battle-brother who serves as a combat medic and recovers the chapter gene-seed, basic when a new Space Marine is formed. Out of the battle, they preserve that gene-seed pure from mutations in order to ensure the chapter future. The one of today belongs to the Ultramarines. 

DEATHWATCH SPACE MARINES

Finally here we have the brave Marines that compose this misterious chapter. All of them have the Deatchwatch icon on its left shoulder pad and wear black power armor and red weapons. This first Space Marine belongs to the Imperial Fists:

 Deathwatch Marine from the Dark Angels with heavy flammer.

This battle-brother comes from the Blood Angels.

A Deathwatch Marine from the Dark Templars awaits the enemy with his Heavy Bolter.

We are always please to perform such a personal project with multiple details and transformations. Having your own unique collection of models is the best part of this hobby. You should try to send us your own projects and who knows...maybe one day your miniatures will be here!

SOUL DRINKERS VETERAN SQUADS. YEAR: 2015.

A new release of the renegade Space Marines Soul Drinkers chapter has arrived this week to our blog. It is a curious order because they are not the common Space Marines that abound nowadays. They look pretty similar to the Emperor's Children traitor legion, but they have more in common with the Imperial Fists, their successor chapter. We already painted some Soul Drinkers characters, in concrete a Chaplain and a Librarian, both of them wearing Terminator armor. Let's check the squads:

Soul Drinkers are a Excommunicate Traitoris chapter due to an incident between them and the Adeptus Mechanicus during the search of a Soul Drinkers artifact called the Soulspear. That relic was a gift from their Primarch Rogal Dorn and was able to create Warp vortex. In that time, some bandids had it in their power but just in the moment when it was going to be recovered, a platoon of Adeptus Mechanicus soldiers took it. That action loosed a war that ended being the Soul Drinkers declared traitors.

After a brief explanation of these Space Marines, let us introduce you the order. We have painted 2 squads: a Veteran unit and a Sternguard Veteran squad. As you will see later, our customer has conversioned each one of his Marines (Soul Drinkers are not an official chapter) using pieces from multiple Space Marines boxes: Space Wolves, Khorne Berzerkers or even Dark Angels. After a tough work like that, it only remained our part: give them life with our brushes.

SPACE MARINE VETERANS

This unit of Space Marines Veternas is specialised in close combat and carry lightning claws and chainaxes. They also are equipped with jump packs in order to fall over the enemy from the skies. The heads chosen by our customer fit very well for this unit.

STERNGUARD VETERAN SQUAD

This unit is more specialised in missile attacks than the previous one. They have a more variety of weapons and are able to fight against all kind of enemies: light or heavy infantry, tanks,... In this case, they carry ordinary Bolters and chainswords but we can find a flameror a storm bolter.

We have wanted to show you some Space Marines independently so you can see closer all their details. For example: our customer has bought specific Soul Drinkers left shoulder pads.

These two veteran Space Marines look much more corpulent thanks to the jump packs and the size of their close combat weapons. Anyway, conversions fit great along with the violet and gold scheme of colors. In addition, those simple bases decorated with sand make the models call your attention.

SOUL DRINKERS, INQUISITOR AND DEATHWATCH SPACE MARINES. YEAR: 2013

Any fan of Warhammer 40K universe can easily recognize what we are going to talk about along this post. With this new order we had to paint some Warhammer 40.000 models following the appeareance of two special Space Marine Chapters: Soul Drinkers and Deathwatch.

But firts, let's talk about this two rare Chapters:

The Soul Drinkers were a Renegade Chapter of Space Marines declared Excommunicate Traitoris by the Inquisition because of their extremely high levels of mutation and obvious corruption by Chaos, yet the Soul Drinkers still considered themselves to be loyal to the Emperor of Mankind, if not to His Imperium. The Soul Drinkers were a Second Founding Successor Chapter of the Imperial Fists Legion

The Soul Drinkers' Power Armour is purple with ornate bone and gold-colored pauldron trims and a gold Imperial Aquila or Imperialis on their breastplates.
Chapter Badge. The Soul Drinkers' Chapter badge is a golden chalice with five spirals of soul energy rising out of the top.

The Deathwatch Space Marines serve the Ordo Xenos of the Imperial Inquisition as its Chamber Militant, the warriors of last resort when the Inquisition needs access to firepower greater than the Imperial Guard or a team of its own Acolytes or even Throne Agents can provide. Across the galaxy there are innumerable hostile alien civilisations that threaten Mankind.

Unlike other Space Marines, the Deathwatch are not truly a separate Chapter of the Adeptus Astartes; rather, they are a collection of Veteran Space Marines drawn from all of the different extant Chapters who serve together in the Inquisition's service for a discrete period of time.

                                       

Now you know more about the Chapters, we want you to describe how we performed the request.

We had to paint 7 models: an Inquisitor, three Soul Drinkers and three Deathwatch marines; but first we had to remove the paint of each miniature in order to start with the painting process. Here you can see some pics:

We had to pin the Inquisitor on its base before start in order to avoid future accidents.
