DIORAMA: THE CEMENTERY OF MANSIONS OF MADNESS. YEAR: 2014

The title "the Mansions of Madness" has become something usual here in our blog because it has appeared many, many times.

Until now we have published the models, but today we have performed something different. It is a diorama that shows a scene from the game.

A detective is trying to fathom the secrets of the Mansion of Madness, in order to find the great Cthulhu. He is interrogating the undertaker...will he discover something?

This is an overview of the diorama. There are many different details such as gravestones, a crypt, a well...

The detective is asking something to the undertaker, but it doesn't seem he wants to cooperate. By the way, the maker of the scene has built the floor with his own mould.

Two gargoyles watch the gates of the cementery.

At its best days the crypt belonged to a rich family, but now is in ruins.

The maker has taken care of every single detail. For example, there is a small pile of earth close to the grave.

Hope you like it and don't forget to comment!

MANSIONS OF MADNESS MODELS. EXPANSION. YEAR: 2014

It's been almost six months since we performed one of our most interesting works: a complete set of models about the Mansions of Madness board game. This game is based on the literature of H.P. Lovecraft that you all know becuase of the Cthulhu Mythos. It is a narrative game of investigation and mystery where you and your mates have to explore a horrifying 20s American mansion.

If you are curious about it, you can check the original post here.

But this game doesn't ends here. Later more models and rules were published...and luckily we have had the chance to paint a complete set of one of those expansions.

Although the game develops inside a mansion, the models have at theirs bases a gritty ground with bushes and some extras details in order to place them in the outskirts of the house. In addition, this time we haven't paint any investigator because they all are monsters!

Hope you like them and don't forget to comment!

Overview of the Mansions of Madness expansion set models:

NIGHTGAUNTS

Here you can see both Nightgaunts together. One is over a graveyard and the other has a pile of skulls at its feet. Colourful but terrifying.

DRUIDS

They are dark and evil...

In one of their bases you can see a pair of crosses and in the other a some woody debris.

GOAT SPAWNS

We have placed them on the top of rocks watching around.

CHILD OF THE GOAT

WIZARD WHATELEY

Wizard Whateley models have some extra details at their bases such as a wooden cross and some rests of a fence.

For the end we have selected the biggest models...

THE DUNWITCH HORROR

DARK YOUNG

THE DUNWITCH HORROR AND DARK YOUNG TOGETHER

We keep working hard, so you better stay tuned because we have much more things to publish!
See you soon again!

MANSIONS OF MADNESS MINIATURES. YEAR: 2013.

Today we want to totally change the kind of miniatures that we use to upload in our blog.

In this post you are about to see almost 50 models that we have painted for the tabletop game Mansions of Madness. This game it is based on the literature of H. P. Lovecraft, most know for the Cthulhu Mythos. It is a narrative game of investigation and mistery where the tabletop is a dark mansion of the America's 20. One player has the role of "Guardian" and is in charge of the story and the monsters that will appear, while the rest of the players have to explore the house in order to find out the enigma hidden in there and scape alive... sounds good, right? So imagine playing it with all these models fully painted!

We have been meticulous with the 20's background and the aura of mistery that surround the game. You can see that in both bases and clothes of the miniatures.
We have classified models in three section in order to show you all of them more easily: investigators, humanoi monsters and big monsters. We upload you first the investigators. They are simple miniatures but at the same time look very well.

Investigators

You will see that these miniatures are quite different each other. There are from detectives, gangsters, nurses, librarians and musicians to mages.

Humanoid monsters

In this section we have incluided different humanoid evil miniatures that are not investigators. Between them you will see a couple of cult leaders, some cultits, two witches, four zombies and a pair of maniacs.

Cult leader.

Cultists.

Some cultists have at their bases different parts of a satanic pentagram.

Witches.

Zombies.

Maniacs.

While you are playing the game, it is quite possible you survive if you are attacked by one of the previous miniatures. However I'm sure something different would happen with the followings because they are what give the touch of mistery to the game. They are in the end the Cthulhu Mythos:

Monsters

Here you are about to see rare and phantasmagoric creatures that come from the deepest corners of the universe. If one of these catches better pray your best orison. Shoggoths, Chthonians, Byakhees, Hounds of Tindalos, Mi-gos and even Crawling Ones gather in this section.

Chthonians.

Check out the details of the base and the slime all over its body.

Shoggoths.

Mi-Gos.

Hounds of Tindalos.

Crawling Ones.

Byakhees.

We don't want to say you goodbye without showing you some of the bases that we have done (especialy for investigators). Most of them have been built to seem the inside of a mansion where the game is developped. You can see different carpets, wooden floors and sidewalks.

A dark sidewalk.

Carpet with a blood splatter .

Wooden floor.

Another elaborated carpet.

That's all for today. We hope you like this post where you have been able to see curious models completly differents of what we use to upload. In fact it is a luxe to have a collection like that and share it with your frinds. The perfect final point to introduce yourself in your character and the story of this tabletop game.

Regards from the whole Grupo Afternoon.
